1.Summary of Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Agency Tribal Nations, acting under the authority of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (PL 93-638) and the sovereign authority of the 588 Tribal Nations Sustainable Development Program, has submitted to the Federal Contracting Authority a proposal for Integrated Land & Maritime Response Services along the Klamath River Operational Area.

The proposed agreement establishes a $6,000,000 federal contract for fire mitigation, brush and trail maintenance, search and rescue, vessel patrol, and first-responder services, employing 75 personnel (50 land, 25 maritime) certified through FEMA ICS-100/200/700/800 and First Responder (CPR, AED, First Aid) programs.

4.Public Comment Period

Pursuant to the Tribal Government-to-Government Consultation policy of the Department of the Interior and the Self-Determination Act, written comments from affected Tribal Nations, federal agencies, state and county governments, and members of the public are invited for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of this notice.

Comments will be received and considered on the following matters:
  • Impacts on Tribal sovereignty, resources, properties, or cultural practices
  • Environmental, public safety, or economic concerns within the Klamath River Operational Area
  • Personnel, training, or operational specifications
  • Coordination requirements with adjacent jurisdictions and federal/state response agencies
